Trend Alert: Baseball Caps

Mar
15

Baseball caps are one of my favorite trends this year because it gives an urban feel to any look and it instantly makes your outfit look effortlessly cool.  You can wear it with a dress, jeans and a t-shirt or a jumpsuit – the options are endless. Check out four ways to wear a baseball hat!

1.Leggings

One of the easiest ways to style a baseball cap is to pair it with leggings and a crop top. The leggings + crop top combo is an understated sexy – as long as you keep the bottoms high waisted. Kourtney Kardashian wore a matching set with a leather baseball cap in black, finishing it off with a denim jacket. The denim is a great way to break up all the black and also add texture.

Kylie wore a white leather baseball cap with a matching hued crop top and black bottoms. The black X white color scheme is classic and will never go out of style. Both ladies kept it casual in sneakers but you could definitely swap them out for heels and wear this look in the evening as well.

2. Dress X Heels

Rihanna looked amazing in her silky dress, heels and baseball cap! She pulled her hair back into a bun beneath the hat, showing off her décolletage.  The cap adds that nice touch of edge to the fancy pieces.  This look is sexy and so chic.  The hat gives the outfit a bit of mystery while balancing out the pieces.

3. Black X Gold

I love wearing Nike/Adidas/Puma hats – they aren’t ‘trendy’ hats — trendy hats usually go out of style in a few months. Nike/Adidas/Puma hats are classic pieces -something every girl should have.  I love adding that sporty/urban element to my looks because I feel like it gives me more confidence and sass.

For this look, wear all black with gold accessories, and add a cream hued baseball cap.  Black with gold jewelry always looks good together – they balance each other out.  The red nails and lips make the look more glam – it will definitely turn heads.  Each part of this ensemble is a classic look on its own and so when you put them together, it just works!

4. Denim X Denim

I have so many hats from my favorite sports teams. I used to only wear them when I went to the gym.  These days, my sports hat serve as the finishing touch to my outfits.  Kendall Jenner wore a chambray top tucked into jeans for a causal but streamlined daytime ensemble.  She added a NY Yankees hat, which made the look less preppy and more effortlessly cool.

3 Outfits You Have to Try This Week!

Apr
06

Fashion in the springtime means color, color, color!  If you’re not sure what to wear this week, check out these three completely different OOTD’s for some wardrobe inspiration!

1. Jeans X Jeans

Jeans on Jeans is such a effortless look and it’s so chic!  Gone are the days that you have to choose two different shades of denim–this season, it’s all about matching.  Miranda Kerr rocked a light wash denim chambray top with the same shade of jeans, which looks amazing!  To give the outfit a pop of color, she chose some leopard print slip on heels and a black handbag.  Leopard and denim really compliment each other so well, making this outfit a perfect 10! This is an easy look to recreate–just make sure the denim top and jeans are the same shade or just really similar.  The lighter the denim the better–it is springtime! Make sure to finish off the look by rolling the sleeves up of your chambray top-it makes the whole look less formal.

2. Plaid X Stripes

This look is all about mixing patterns and colors. Jessica Alba chose a flannel midi skirt with a striped crop top and a chambray top.  It definitely gives off a nineties vibe, especially with the tennis shoes to finish off the look.  When recreating the look, make sure to choose a striped top that compliments the plaid skirt.  For Jessica, she chose pieces with red, but feel free to pick blue stripes or any other color you like–as long as you choose a plaid skirt with that color in the pattern.  The denim chambray top not only keeps the look from showing too much skin, but it also is the perfect jacket for springtime if you tend to get cold but don’t want to overheat.

3. Blazer X Ripped Jeans

A blazer is typically something you wear to dress up an outfit or to work, but Chrissy Teigen shows us all how to truly rock a blazer and still look casual.  The ripped jeans and tucked in white shirt looks perfect with a embroidered blazer.  The detail on the blazer really gives the whole outfit a retro vibe, especially with the added tan handbag.  To keep this look from being too hippi-esque, Chrissy chose to tuck in her white shirt and wore skinny jeans.  The key to this look is choosing a blazer that isn’t structured or fitted, and making sure to tuck in the tank into the jeans.

Hi! It’s been a busy couple of weeks!  I’m Persian and Persian New Years (Noruz) is around the corner. In our culture, New Years is a time of new beginnings and getting rid of the things you don’t need in life.  It’s also all about cleaning up your home and life.  I’ve been slowly but surely cleaning up and organizing.  My birthday is coming up soon so I’m excited on starting a new year a year older! 🙂

Anyways, back to this fashion post.  I went to a brunch in Newport Beach and decided to build an outfit around these harem pants/joggers.  They are actually my sister’s–she gave them to me because it didn’t fit her well.  I decided to pair it with a Forever 21 gray crop top which was slightly see through.  I added a pair of Topshop lace ups, and my Ray Bans.  I like how this outfit consists of shades of beige, including my Marc by Marc Jacobs purse.

I am heading off to the gym–I’ve been on a exercise plan for a few weeks.  Ever since I got my FitBit Charge I have been focused on weight loss and toning up.  A FitBit Charge is a band you wear around your wrist at all times (except for showering or swimming) and it measures how many steps you take, how many calories you’re burning, miles you walked, and stairs you’ve used.  I love it so much because it makes me accountable for how lazy or active I am.  My goal is to get to 10,000 steps a day and 5 miles a day.  This counts every single step you take!  I also love how the Charge measures your sleep without having to push any buttons, as well as acting as an alarm.   It vibrates when people call me and tells me on the band who is calling.  This is a must have if you want to lose weight/get fit and need to see the work you put in.  It cost $130 and comes with a charger as well.  Hope everyone is having an awesome day and Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Black And Yellow

Hi!  I am venturing in OOTD type posts–I will still post stories on trends and fashion etc but I thought maybe do some more personal posts–please let me know what you think and if it’s even something you would like to see.:)

It’s hard to believe it’s already the beginning of March–I feel like time is passing so quickly.  There are so many things I haven’t done yet.  The one thing I’m really looking forward is warmer weather. LA is usually warm all the time, give or take a couple of days, but during the winter months, nights are pretty cold.  Not to complain, it’s great weather most of the time, but I’m ready for springtime.  I’m Persian so I’m excited for Noruz (Persian New Years), which is later this month.  Noruz is a time for new beginnings, something I love.

Anyways, I love wearing all black and did so again for a birthday party I attended over the weekend. I decided to infuse some gold in the look, by adding in a choker and purse with a golden chain.  I love the look of black and gold, it’s a great way to look chic but simple at the same time.

*did not purchase–it’s my sister’s 🙂

It was a little cold that night so I decided to throw on a simple black cardigan, and I feel like it really finished off the look.  The red nails was a last minute thing and I think it really popped with the all black.

I re-glossed my hair that same day.  I have dark brown hair but I love the look of jet black so I use Redken Shades of EQ gloss to make it darker.  It doesn’t damage your hair and it’s not permanent, but will last a couple of weeks.  It also makes your hair really soft!

I am currently in the midst of organizing my room and while I was doing this, I literally couldn’t stop listening to this FKA Twigs song, “Video Girl.”  Take a listen and let me know what you think!  I love her voice!

What do you think of the all black look?

Trend Alert: Floral Skirts and Crop Tops

Feb
23

My favorite season is spring because it means flowers will bloom, the weather will warm up (well, it will just get warmer in LA 🙂 ) and you can pull out your floral pieces!  Although spring is still weeks away, I’ve been loving the combo of floral skirts and crop tops.  This is such a gorgeous look that will definitely make you stand out.  The key to this look is a midi length (knee length or longer) that has some kind of floral pattern and pairing it with a colored crop top.  To stay warm, definitely choose a knitted crop top but you can wear one with a thinner fabric if you want too.

Take a look at three of my favorite pairings of this look and also where you can purchase similar ones!

Kate Hudson

She looks amazing, wearing Michael Kors at his fashion show in New York.  For this look, she chose to match the shirt to the skirt.

Kenza Zouiten

The gorgeous blogger/model/designer wearing River Island.  Make sure to take a look at her blog–she has amazing style.  If you want to make a bold statement, pair a bright skirt with a different color.  This orange top matches great with the blue floral skirt!

Miroslava Duma

Now if you don’t want to wear a fitted skirt or go too bold with your colors, try this look like Miroslava Duma.  She chose a loose fitted skirt with a more understated pattern, pairing it with a long sleeve top.

Check out some gorgeous floral skirts I found from Asos, as well as Missguided.  I found this gorgeous pencil skirt at Missguided too that’s on sale for $15.20.

Which is your favorite look?  I love them all but I think Kenza’s look is my fave!

xoxo
