Sorella boutique is one of my favorite stores in LA (they also have a wide selection online). The bodysuit and leggings I got from their store front on Melrose. If you’re ever in LA, I recommend popping in there.  I also met the founder Heather Sanders during one of the visits – she was soooo sweet and wow she is absolutely stunning!

Anyways not only do they have cute clothes but their pieces are great for all sizes.  They have a wide range of sizes and items that fit curvier girls as well. The bodysuit and leggings are no longer available but they have similar pieces that I’ve linked here and here.  This look I wore for a casual Sunday.

I added the hoops and Celine’s for a glamorous touch to the simple look. I chose a chunkier shoe because I wanted to keep the look casual.

Trend Alert: Baseball Caps

Mar
15

Baseball caps are one of my favorite trends this year because it gives an urban feel to any look and it instantly makes your outfit look effortlessly cool.  You can wear it with a dress, jeans and a t-shirt or a jumpsuit – the options are endless. Check out four ways to wear a baseball hat!

1.Leggings

One of the easiest ways to style a baseball cap is to pair it with leggings and a crop top. The leggings + crop top combo is an understated sexy – as long as you keep the bottoms high waisted. Kourtney Kardashian wore a matching set with a leather baseball cap in black, finishing it off with a denim jacket. The denim is a great way to break up all the black and also add texture.

Kylie wore a white leather baseball cap with a matching hued crop top and black bottoms. The black X white color scheme is classic and will never go out of style. Both ladies kept it casual in sneakers but you could definitely swap them out for heels and wear this look in the evening as well.

2. Dress X Heels

Rihanna looked amazing in her silky dress, heels and baseball cap! She pulled her hair back into a bun beneath the hat, showing off her décolletage.  The cap adds that nice touch of edge to the fancy pieces.  This look is sexy and so chic.  The hat gives the outfit a bit of mystery while balancing out the pieces.

3. Black X Gold

I love wearing Nike/Adidas/Puma hats – they aren’t ‘trendy’ hats — trendy hats usually go out of style in a few months. Nike/Adidas/Puma hats are classic pieces -something every girl should have.  I love adding that sporty/urban element to my looks because I feel like it gives me more confidence and sass.

For this look, wear all black with gold accessories, and add a cream hued baseball cap.  Black with gold jewelry always looks good together – they balance each other out.  The red nails and lips make the look more glam – it will definitely turn heads.  Each part of this ensemble is a classic look on its own and so when you put them together, it just works!

4. Denim X Denim

I have so many hats from my favorite sports teams. I used to only wear them when I went to the gym.  These days, my sports hat serve as the finishing touch to my outfits.  Kendall Jenner wore a chambray top tucked into jeans for a causal but streamlined daytime ensemble.  She added a NY Yankees hat, which made the look less preppy and more effortlessly cool.

Wish List: 5 Things I Want This Summer

Jun
04

Summer is here and that means time for a wardrobe update!  I love pieces that are not just summery items, but ones you can incorporate throughout the year.  I’ve been keeping an eye on several items–items that I could wear over and over!  Check out five things on my summer wish list and how you can get them too!

1. Ankle Length Skirts

Ankle length skirts first caught my eyes when I saw Kim Kardashian wearing a white one with a crop top and duster coat.  What I love about ankle length skirts: they’re fitted, and manage to make you look curvy, feminine and still classy.  Instead of wearing a mini skirt, I love the idea of wearing a skintight ankle length skirt that covers my legs with a long sleeved crop top. I’m obsessed with the ankle length skirts from online store Tea-You.com, because the quality is amazing and they’re lined so it will flatter every body type and last a long time. You can purchase one for $90–the quality and design of these pieces is worth the price. The item is called the Anna-Belle Ankle Length Lined Skirt and you can choose between camel, olive green, and lilac on tea-you.com.

2. Side Split T-Shirt

These long t-shirts may seem like it should be reserved for fall, but it’s actually the perfect t-shirt for summer.  The fabric is light and the slit down the sides are great because it can show off your denim shorts you wear underneath the long shirt.  It’s edgy but still modern–the perfect tee for summer!  I love the Side Split T Shirt in Taupe for $24 on Missguidedus.com.

3. Sleeveless Duster Coat

I’m sure you’ve noticed that I love duster coats, I mean, what’s not to love? You can wear them year round, they make any outfit look elegant, and they are light.  For summertime, I love sleeveless duster coats, especially Boohoo.com’s Lara sleeveless version for $30. It comes it several colors, including black, blue, coral, cream and rose.

4. Ripped Denim

In my opinion, ripped denim is better than wearing shorts.  It’s edgy, sexy and timeless.  Ripped denim can worn so many ways, you can dress it up or down, wear it on a night out or a casual ootd.  My favorite pair is the Sorella Self Destruct jeans for $60, made from vintage Levi’s denim.  They’re custom denim so each pair has a different wash.

5. Cropped Sweatsuit Set

Kylie Jenner wore a red sweatsuit–a  cropped hooded sweater with sweatpants–and suddenly I’m obsessing over the look. Who thought sweats could look so sexy?  She got her pair from Sorella Boutique–it’s called the “Sorella Don’t Sweat It Sweatsuit,” retailing for $70.  It comes in several colors in addition to red, you can get it in gray, green and white.  My favorite has to be the green–I can definitely see myself wearing them with my black lace up heels!
