Three Different Looks You Could Be Rocking This Weekend

Now that summer is officially underway, beach parties and bbq’s will be making their way on social calendars. If you want to mix up your summer wardrobe, take a look at some looks I’ve been loving this week!

1) Casual and Cool 90s

I love the 90s–it’s my favorite style decade, and who can forget one of the most popular item–overalls! Light blue or dark denim, black, white–love it all! This is a must have item for summer! Throw it on over a crop top and it’s sexy but still sweet. Or wear it with a simple white t-shirt and look effortless. You can show as little or as much skin as you want. Check out this look from Selena Gomez, who is rocking a floral crop top underneath her overalls.

2) Effortless Chic

Denim shorts represent summer to me and adding bold heels and a black belt takes the effortless to another level.  Try pairing it a la supermodel and South African goddess Candice Swanepoel, who wore her shorts with a white top, snakeskin patterned heels and an Alexander Wang purse during Paris Fashion Week.

3) Sexy But Comfortable

Don’t get me wrong short skirts are cute, sexy and look good with everything. But, it’s a pain to wear–you have to constantly make sure nothing is showing, it’s not too short and if it’s flattering. Instead of worrying how it sits on your body, my favorite length is a long skirt. The long, flawy ones are adorable but I like the slightly fitted long skirts. You can get one embellished with zippers, a patterned design, but if you want to try out the trend, get a simple long black skirt. It looks amazing paired with pretty much anything, but I am loving Kim Kardashian’s take on a long skirt summer look. Wear a black version with a black crop top, showing only a slither of skin.

Jessica Simpson Debuts Home Collection

Jessica Simpson’s massive empire is getting bigger!  Besides shoes, clothes, perfumes, accessories and so much more, Jessica has expanded her brand once again.  And we love it!

The Jessica Simpson Home collection is now available at Bed, Bath & Beyond.  The home goods line includes comforters, pillows, and quilts, with a lot of paisley and a cool southern vibe.  The line will also be expanding this fall to include bath and kitchen.

The 33-year-old-mom of two told People Magazine: “We started working on designs after [2-year-old daughter] Maxwell was born and Eric and I were moving into our new house.  We have wanted to add [home] to the collection for a while.  I work alongside my mom on my collection and we both share a passion for home interiors, so branching out in this category has been really inspiring for us.”

Check out the Jessica Simpson collection here.

We here at TLR love the collection–the price isn’t too crazy and the paisley designs really brighten up a space.  A white room can always use an intricate pattern so make sure to grab some items from her collection while you can!

My favorite pieces! The comforter and pillows are gorgeous! ($99.99-179.99)

If you want to look glamorous and chic this summer, try rocking a body chain! Wear it under you crop top or over your bikini or a dress–it instantly makes an outfit pop!  Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Kylie Jenner, Candice Swanepoel, Beyonece, Kate Hudson and so many more have been photographed wearing a gorgeous body chain.

Alicia Keys Looks Gorgeous in New Givenchy Fragrance Ad Campaign

Alicia Keys is the new face of Givenchy’s latest fragrance, Dahlia Divin, and she is looking good!  alicia-keys-givenchy-dahlia-divin-tlrAlthough the scent, which combines notes of patchouli, sandalwood, mirabelle plum, vetiver, and jasmine, won’t be out until September, her ad campaign for the new fragrance has been released.  Singer Alicia is clad in a gold, shimmering Givenchy dress and golden makeup to match the design of the Givenchy fragrance.

The 33-year-old Grammy winner told WWD that the inspiration for the campaign came after Givenchy designer Ricardo Tisci worked with Alicia for a show she did celebrating the 10th anniversary for her debut album:

“We did four intimate shows with just me on the piano, and he designed the look for them.  It was very heavy metal–everything of his is just really heavy, but it was super cool.  As time passed, the campaign came to fruition.”

Victoria Beckham Reveals Her First Date Dress With David

If you ever wondered what Victoria Beckham wore to win the heart of David Beckham, wonder no more!

Victoria Bekham reveals what she wore on her first date with David in 1997 and it’s a burnt orange suede sleeveless mini dress, complete with a belt.

The infamous dress is also the same dress Victoria wore during a Spice Girls promotional photoshoot. The 40-year-old singer and designer tweeted a photo, with the caption: “Look what I found! The dress I wore on my first date with David!! X so cute!! X vb.”

The always stylish Victoria and her professional soccer player hubby have been married since 1999 and have four children.  I’d say that dress was a very wise choice!

Style Inspired: Kim Kardashian at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival

kim-kardashian-bonaroo-festival-tlrI caught a glance of Kim Kardashian’s outfit at Bonnaroo last weekend and completely fell in love with the look!  Although it definitely sexy and risque, I think the way Kim styled it keeps the look classy.  While this look may not be for everyone, it’s this week’s style inspired look.

Kim is wearing a Fear of God bomber jacket ($995), Citizens of Humanity jeans and Saint Laurent heels, but TLR found similar pieces that won’t drain your back account.

Kendall Jenner Shows Off Pelvic Bone in MuchMusic Awards Dress

kendall-jenner-muchmusic-tlrThe Jenner girls–Kendall and Kylie–hit the red carpet for the MuchMusic Awards in Toronto, Canada.  The sister duo also served as hosts for the award show.  Kendall Jenner wore a long sleeve white embellished Fausto Puglisi dress that has high slits, showing off her pelvic bone.  The sexy dress, which showed off the 18-year-olds model physique, was paired with gold lace up heels and a gold clutch.

Kylie went with a long sleeve Nicholas Jebran mini dress, nude platform heels and showed off her newly dyed back to black hair.

I think the dress is unique and Kendall can definitely pull it off!  What do you think of the dress?  Too sexy or just right?

Avocado Cilantro Pasta

One of our go-to vegan meals has currently been this avocado cilantro pasta dish–it’s easy and so delicious.  I found the recipe on sweetsimplevegan, but we changed it up a little bit.  The day after we made it, we took the leftovers for our lunch and it still tasted fresh and amazing!

2 cups gluten free brown rice penne pasta

2 cups baby spinach

1 bunch cilantro, stems removed

3 cloves of garlic

1/2 red onion

1 large avocado

1 can garbanzo beans

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

Juice of one lemon

3 tsp olive oil

1 tsp agave

2 tsp spicy mustard (I got mine from Trader Joe’s)

1/2 tsp. cumin

dash of salt and pepper

1. Cook pasta according to package instructions.  Drain and let it cool.

2. In the food processor, add the spinach and cilantro and turn on until finely chopped.

3. Add the food processor chopped spinach and cilantro mixture to a large bowl.

4. In the newly empty food processor, add the onion and the three cloves of garlic; chop until it is a fine mixture.

5. Add the onion and garlic mixture into the large bowl with the chopped spinach and cilantro.  Mix.

6. Dice the avocado and cut the tomatoes in half.  Drain garbanzo beans.  Add the diced avocado, tomatoes and garbanzo beans to the large bowl.

7. Pour the pasta into the mixture.

8. Make the dressing in a separate small bowl, mix well and then pour over the pasta and greens mixture.

9. Toss well and serve. Enjoy!

It tastes good fresh or the the next day, as a cold pasta dish.  Best stored in the fridge in small air tight container.
