Hi Lifestylers!  Here are my five favorite beauty products that I’ve been loving in January.  Make sure to comment below and tell me your beauty faves! XOXO Sarah!

1. NYX Cosmetics Lip Liner

I recently bought my first NYX Cosmetics lip liner and I have to say, it lasts a long time, and the color was absolutely gorgeous.  It cost me only $3.49!  I love their brown tone colors, including “Natural,” “Peek-a-boo Natural” and “Mauve.”  It’s also a cruelty free item so definitely something I will buy again in the future.  There are so many pretty colors, and soo much cheaper than MAC!  You can still get the Kylie Jenner lip colors for a fraction of the cost!

2. OPI Matte Top Coat

I love matte nails and OPI’s matte top coat does the job!  Simply paint your nails any color you like, let it dry, and then paint one to two coats with the matte top coat.  My favorite thing to do is paint my nails matte black!  The matte top coat usually lasts about 1 to 2 weeks depending on how careful I am!!  It costs $9.50 at Ulta.

3. KMS California Hair Play Makeover Spray

The KMS Dry Shampoo has a yummy scent and it gives your hair amazing volume!  You just spray it in your hair and it’s not hard to brush it into your hair.  It’s also not too expensive and lasts a while.  This is a great product if you have oily hair or if you just want to have more volume.  It can be purchased at Ulta for $19.99 (for a 6.7 oz. bottle)

4. Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Intensive Hand Cream

Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Intensive Hand Cream

While in Utah, this lotion was an absolute lifesaver!  By the end of the day, my hands were always so dry and cracking.  At bedtime I would put this lotion on, and by morning, my hands were so smooth! It also smells great–like apricots and vanilla.  I’ve had mine for over a year and it still does the job.  I throw it in my purse and use when my hands are super dry.  It can be purchased at Sephora for $22 USD (but currently out of stock 🙁 ).

5. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 in Sugar Rosé

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 Rose Tint Lip Balm The Lifestyle Reporter

This stuff works wonders on chapped lips! It makes my lips silky soft!!  I like to put it on at bedtime because when I wake up, my lips become so soft and its makes putting on lip liner a lot easier.  I love this color, the red tint, if you just want to wear a red look out but don’t want to commit to red lipstick.  It also has SPF which is very important!!  It’s pricey–$22.50 for one, but they do last a long time.

Trend Alert: Blush Colored Pieces

Jan

One of the most gorgeous colors (besides black of course) is the blush!  It’s more of a pinky nude and it literally goes with everything.  It’s such a beautiful color that will always be in style and give off an elegant vibe.

If you want to keep it simple, pair blush colored pants or a skirt with a black top, like Kate Moss and Jessica Alba below.  If you’re in a rush and don’t want to wear black on black, choose blush–it brightens up any outfit and looks so classy!

If you’re feeling bold, try a monochrome two piece blush look.  It looks so beautiful!  Wearing one color is such a gorgeous look and it looks so Audrey Hepburn-esque.  It’s a great look for a date, work, or a night out. Keep your accessories simple, either beige, black or color, that way the blush colored pieces are the star of the show.  Check out some monochrome looks below!

What do you think about blush colored pieces?  Which one is your favorite?  Mine is Jessica Alba’s skirt with the black sweater, it is definitely something I would wear in the future.  I also love a good monochrome two piece look, especially with a crop turtleneck! xoxo Sarah

3 Ways To Wear a Crop Top in Winter

Jan

Just because the weather is colder doesn’t mean you have to put away your crop tops.  Kim Kardashian has a great sense of style and knows how to rock a crop top.  You can definitely wear them in the winter months, and here are three different ways you can style them!

1) High waisted trousers are so elegant and a great timeless piece to add to your wardrobe.  They also look amazing with crop tops.  To stay warm, opt for a long sleeve sweater crop top like Kim.  Make sure though that it’s fitted to avoid looking boxy.  If you want to emulate Kim’s crop top but don’t want to run out and buy one with a similar “knotted” look, just knot a crop top sweater yourself.  It’s a great way to change up a simple black sweater without spending money or cutting it.  Keep jewelry to a minimum and make sure to add a bold lip–it completes the look!

2) I personally love this next outfit because it’s so simple. Pair a white crop top with a matching long fitted skirt and finish it off with a long cream colored coat.  Keep the colors really neutral because it really makes the outfit look more effortless. The jacket is a gorgeous–it’s definitely lighter than your normal nude color coats.  Unless it’s really cold, try reaching for a lighter jacket like Kim’s because anything thicker could look really bulky.  Add nude colored heels and a purse and you’re good to go.

3) If you don’t want to show your stomach but still want to rock a crop top, well this next look is for you.  Kim wore a blush colored fitted dress and wore a matching loose fit crop top turtleneck sweater over it.  You’re not showing your stomach but it’s still a sexy look!  Pair it with funky heels and pull your hair back in a ponytail to finish off the look.

The Newest Sweater Trend You Need To Try!

Jan
05

Instead of reaching for the same sweater over and over again, why not try something outside the box?  In this case, I mean sweaters with patterns, prints and with a unique texture.  Check out three different looks types of sweaters, and how to style them this winter!

1) Patterned Sweater

Instead of reaching for a solid colored sweater, why not rock some patterns a la Kate Bosworth?  She wore a patterned sweater for a casual day out, pairing it with textured pants and clogs.  Kate definitely chose the right pieces to compliment the sweater; you want to pair it with simple pants in order to keep the attention on the intricate pattern.  When choosing a patterned sweater, make sure you choose one that is a little of the looser side–it gives off an effortless vibe.

2) Animal Print Sweater

If you want to make a statement, wear a bold animal print sweater the next time you need an OOTN.   Miranda Kerr wore a gorgeous green zebra print sweater, pairing it with an sexy midi skirt and boots.  Since the color and print is so bold, the key to this wearing a black skirt and boots.  Choose a sexy skirt, i.e. like one with a slit.  This is such a great night out winter look because most of your body is covered but it’s still sexy!

3) Textured Sweater

A textured sweater is a great addition to any girl’s wardrobe.  Choose a fuzzy neutral colored sweater like Jamie Chung, and it will be something you can wear over and over again.  A great winter twist to any outfit is sparkles and it compliments the neutral toned fuzzy knit perfectly.  The sweater gives a nice dimension to the skirt and keeps the whole look classy–a great date night or even work look!
